Discover Our Beachside Family Inn

Our cosy waterside inn is nestled on the edge of the picturesque Portmellon Cove, with striking views and a safe beach for all the family to have fun. A beamed bar area with a snug provides delightful views of the cove through the small sash windows. We have outside seating for warmer days and a cosy wood burner inside for the cold evenings. The Rising Sun Inn is a real pub and freehouse run by the Harvey family. We welcome families with children and are very dog friendly. There is a dog ban on the beach from 1st July until the 30th of September, but we have plenty of room to sit inside or outside the pub with your dog.

Locally Sourced Food, Ales & Refreshments

Our kitchen offers simple, honest, freshly cooked food from light snacks to hearty meals and sources local ingredients whenever available, including fresh seafood from Mevagissey Harbour and Dexter beef from a local farm. We stock Cornish real ales, ciders and guest beers, with a wide range of wines, spirits and popular lagers as well as teas, coffee, soft drinks and real Cornish dairy ice cream.

Many Places to Go & Things to Do

Portmellon Cove, next to the busy fishing port of Mevagissey, is perfectly situated amongst the many attractions that Cornwall has to offer, from quaint fishing villages and fabulous beaches to popular visitor destinations such as the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. There are many activities to enjoy close by including boat trips, sea fishing, kayaking, scuba diving, water sports, cycle trails and hiking - we are right on the South West Coastal Path.
