The Rising Sun can be hired exclusively for weddings, wakes, and private celebrations — either the whole pub or just the restaurant — on the beach at Portmellon, Cornwall. As much or as little arranged as you'd like, in a genuine 17th-century, Grade II Listed building.
What We Offer for Private Events
Every private hire starts with an initial consultation, where we'll talk through food and drink options, music, how you'd like the space decorated, and your budget. From there, we can arrange as much or as little as you need — professional photography, equipment hire, and entertainment can all be organised on your behalf, or you're welcome to bring your own suppliers if you'd prefer.
Wedding Receptions
Full exclusive hire gives you the whole pub — bar, restaurant, and beer garden — for your wedding day, with the beach right outside for photographs. A genuine alternative to a standard function room.
Wakes
A proper, considered send-off. We'll work around exactly what you need, from the food to the room layout, so you can focus on the people around you rather than the arrangements.
Celebrations
Birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, or any occasion that calls for somewhere set aside from a normal trading night — hire the whole pub or just the restaurant, depending on your numbers.
Christmas Parties
Book your work do or family gathering somewhere with a proper fire, a full bar, and a view over the cove.
