End of Summer Roundup

This August brought online table booking, the launch of Sunday Brunch, a live music and hog roast day, and a summer of guests discovering The Green Room and The Blue Room — here's the full round-up.

What a month. If you've been following along, you'll know August has been one of the busiest and most exciting stretches we've had in a long time — so before September takes over, here's a look back at everything that's happened.

Booking got easier. We launched online table booking this month, so no more phone tag trying to get through on a busy Saturday — you can now reserve a table in seconds.

Sunday Brunch arrived. We launched a proper Sunday Brunch, running every week, year-round — shakshuka, huevos rancheros, smoked haddock hash, and plenty more, right through to 3pm every Sunday.

Selkie Cove kept surprising people. From the Papas Rellenas to the Miso Caramel Wings, this summer's sharing plates menu has had people coming back again and again — and there's plenty more still to come from the kitchen.

The rooms found their fans. The Green Room and The Blue Room have had a brilliant first summer — one guest's Instagram story called The Blue Room "breathtaking," and honestly, we couldn't agree more.

We danced on the beach. Our live music and hog roast day brought Tregony Teachers and Jonny Ringo and the Cowboys down to Portmellon for one of the best nights of the summer.

And we learned a bit more about our own history. Turns out The Rising Sun is older than most of us realised — a genuine 17th-century, Grade II Listed building, right here on the cove.

Thank you to everyone who's been part of it — behind the bar, in the kitchen, and every single person who's walked through our doors this summer. September's shaping up to be just as good.
