Dead Western: Our Halloween Party Is Coming to Portmellon
The Rising Sun's Halloween party this year is Dead Western — Saturday 31st October, free entry, dress code Dead Western. Rodeo bull, line dancing, and Halloween games run from 6:30pm, with live music from Johnny Ringo & The Cowboys from 8pm to 10pm.
Halloween at The Rising Sun has never looked like this before. This year, we're going Dead Western — and we mean properly committing to it, not just a few pumpkins on the bar.
Saturday 31st October, from 6:30pm, free entry, dress code Dead Western. Here's everything that's happening.
🤠 Rodeo Bull
6:30pm to 9:30pm. Get on, hold on, and see how long you last — the winner walks away with a stay for two in one of our sea-view rooms. Rides are £1 a go, or five goes for £4. Buy your ride tokens at the bar and take your shot.
💃 Line Dancing
6:30pm to 7:30pm, free for all to join in, right in our western-themed restaurant. Whether you've got two left boots or you're already word-perfect on the moves, get your boots on and get involved — no experience needed.
🎃 Halloween Games
From 6:30pm. Apple bobbing, mummified, and trick or treat — proper Halloween fun for the whole family, with prizes for the winner of every game, ranging from roast dinners to a bottle of champagne.
🎸 Live Music — Johnny Ringo & The Cowboys
8pm to 10pm. Local legends who sing the classics we all know the words to — Johnny Ringo & The Cowboys take the stage to close the night out properly. Expect a full room and everyone singing along.
The full running order
- 6:30pm — Rodeo Bull, Line Dancing, and Halloween Games all get underway
- 7:30pm — Line dancing wraps up (rodeo bull and games carry on)
- 8pm–10pm — Live music from Johnny Ringo & The Cowboys
What should I wear?
Dead Western. Think cowboys, ghosts of the frontier, saloon spirits, or anything that blends the two — the spookier and more creative, the better.
Do I need to book?
No booking needed and entry is free — just turn up. Our food menu will change for the night so we can make use of all the space.
