Meet Lottie & Elliot

If you've been in the pub on a busy night this summer, chances are Lottie or Elliot have crossed your path at some point — quite possibly both, and quite possibly doing three different jobs between them.

Lottie is my other daughter, eighteen years old and an absolute superstar. She's behind the bar one minute and front of house in the restaurant the next, and if you can't find her in either of those, she's probably in the kitchen lending a hand there too. She's the kind of person who just gets stuck in wherever she's needed, and watching her grow into the job this summer has been one of my favourite things about the season. Her drink of choice, if you're buying, is a glass of wine.

Elliot is Lottie's boyfriend — they've been together nearly a year now — and he's exactly the kind of hard worker every pub needs. Bar, front of house, kitchen, even stepping up as quiz master when we need one — there isn't a job here he won't turn his hand to. He splits his time between us and Selkie, which means between the two of them, Lottie and Elliot probably cover more ground around here than almost anyone. Ask him nicely and he might tell you his order — a cold beer, unsurprisingly.

Between shifts you'll usually find them together, and on the pub floor you'll usually find them working. If you spot either of them this summer, say hello — they're two of the reasons this place runs the way it does.
