Our Sea-View Rooms Are Ready (Finally!)

I have stood in these two rooms more times than I can count over the last year — first with a paintbrush, then with a tape measure, then just standing at the window watching the tide come in when I was supposed to be choosing curtains. And now, at last, I get to say it: our rooms are ready.

If you've been to the pub, you'll know the view I mean. We sit right on the water's edge at Portmellon Cove — metres between us and the sea, no rooftops, nothing. The rooms sit directly above the bar, which means the view from your bed is the one people stand on our wall to photograph.

There are two of them, and like everything here they've ended up with names:

**The Green Room** — a king-size bed looking out onto the water, a lovely new ensuite, and the whole bay from your window.

**The Blue Room** — our studio, with its own kitchen alongside the king bed and ensuite. Perfect if you're staying a few days and fancy lazy breakfasts looking out at the sea — or cooking something you've picked up in Mevagissey that morning.

We've done both properly. New everything, finished to a standard I'm genuinely proud of — the kind of rooms I'd want to stay in myself, which was always the test.

Mornings here are my favourite thing to tell people about. The cove is quiet, the light on the water is ridiculous, and Mevagissey is a beautiful fifteen-minute walk along the coast path for coffee and pastries. Evenings, you've got the pub downstairs — dinner, a drink on the beach wall at sunset, and then the shortest walk home in Cornwall.
