Dish Spotlight: Mackerel Tacos

Mackerel doesn't always get the spotlight it deserves, but once people try this dish, it tends to become a regular order.

We use local mackerel, properly spiced, then pair it with a charred cucumber and tomato salsa that brings freshness and a bit of smokiness against the richness of the fish. It all sits in a crisp corn taco — sturdy enough to hold everything together, with a bit of crunch that plain soft tacos don't give you.

It's a good one if you want something a bit different from the classic small plates — bright, fresh, and properly flavoured, without losing sight of what makes mackerel worth cooking with in the first place.
