Roasts Are Back — Live Music from The Payback, and The Big Portmellon Yard Sale & Boat Jumble

Sunday Roasts return to The Rising Sun in Portmellon on 27th September 2026, with live music from Cornwall funk band The Payback. The same day, Portmellon hosts The Big Portmellon Yard Sale & Boat Jumble, 10am–2pm, with all pitch fees going to Portmellon Regatta.

  Yes — from Sunday 27th September, our Sunday Roasts are back on the menu for good, done properly, the way this cove has always done them, book in advance to avoid disappointment, head to our BOOK A TABLE page.

• Who is playing live music on 27th September?

  The Payback are playing live at The Rising Sun that day — a four-piece band built for good nights and full dancefloors. If you want a Sunday roast with a proper live band behind it, this is the one to come down for.
  

• What is The Big Portmellon Yard Sale & Boat Jumble?

  It's a community yard sale and boat jumble taking over Portmellon on Sunday 27th September, 10am to 2pm (set-up from 8am). Sellers can bring almost anything — boats, kayaks, dinghies and boating gear, anchors, ropes and fishing gear, tools, furniture, bikes, books, surf and paddleboard kit, clothes, and more. Stand pitches are £10, and every penny raised goes to Portmellon Regatta.

• How do I book a pitch at the yard sale?

  Call Tom on 07887 574297 to book a pitch in advance, or simply load up and turn up on the day.

• Where can I get refreshments on the day?

  Refreshments are available from both The Shack and The Rising Sun Inn, right in Portmellon.

• What's the full plan for the day?

  A browse round the yard sale for a bargain and a good cause, Alysha Vine's voice drifting across the cove, and a proper Sunday roast to finish it off. Bring the family, bring the dog, and come and make a proper day of it

This is a big one. Sunday 27th September is the day Portmellon's famous roasts come back — and we're not doing it quietly.
